You are mostly just waking once for a 1,2 or 3 o'clock feed and then wake up between 6 and 7. You're staying awake 1-1.5 hours during the day and are so good at going down for naps but their length is pretty unpredictable.
You love watching your brothers. You are such a content little man unless you're really tired. You just sit and enjoy being with everyone whether you're in a bouncy, your swing, a lap or your playmat. You are such a precious gift. Your eyes and smile make my day.
Your least favorite activity is probably riding in the car.
You went to nursery at church for the first time. They loved your big blue eyes.
You get baths Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Mommy's been giving them to you in the mornings, which has been working pretty well. I usually get a cute little smile and some leg kicks in the water at the beginning.
Luke and I noticed you reaching for your parrot on your playmat this morning! You are opening and closing your hand more, including your thumb. You like to grab onto my shirt sometimes as I'm carrying you.
Your favorite talk time is right after a good feed, but overall eating isn't your favorite activity. Six-eight minutes is a good feed for you, but you eat as fast as 4 minutes sometimes.

2 months
First Smile and coo the day before Thanksgiving
- first cold after Thanksgiving
- first event Luke’s Thanksgiving performance and feast
- 11 weeks started reaching for things and admiring your hand (and putting it in your mouth all the time)
One month!
You love...
Looking out the window
Rocking in the bouncy seat with your brothers
Tree frog cuddles
Lifting your head up to look around
Not your favorite
Tummy gas
Loud sudden noises
Being overstimulated or overtired
Diaper changes
Red lights while driving
- You just started grabbing onto my shirt or burp cloth or pee pee cannon cover (uh oh!)
- You’ve been making a lot of eye contact
- Your eyes are blue so far and your hair is black
- You’re wearing size 3 month clothes and size 1 diapers
- You’ve been sleeping through the night and just waking for feeds every 3.5-4 hours! (although we avoid a diaper change at the 2-3 am feed otherwise you have trouble settling back down)
- We call you J-Mo because you have a little Mohawk
- Ou-wee is what Luke says when he sees you; your brothers love you so much! They love to hold your hand; sing to you (especially as I go to put you down for a rest); help with diaper changes; help you when you cry “it’s okay, it’s okay, it’s okay Baby Joshua!”
- Whenever Luke sees you he runs over and asks, “Can I see him!?”
- “Baby sounds are so cute!” -Luke
- You went on your first family walk at 5 weeks (and fell asleep)
- you came to church at 3 weeks just for the singing part
